Stretching from Woodburn (NSW) in the south to Beaudesert (QLD) in the north, the Rainforest Way touring route is the perfect way to experience the landscape, lifestyle and diversity of the Northern Rivers and South East Queensland. Check out the story sites and fascinating interpretive panels that paint a picture of Widjabul and European settlement along the riverbank. Hear stories of Lismore's dairying heritage at the Norco Butter Churn, stroll through the indigenous bushfood garden and see the mural on the levee wall dedicated to the eastern freshwater cod. Café & Culture Trail (3kms, 45 mins) This self guided trail takes you on a journey through Lismore's colourful history and culture and into the city centre. Experience the city's funky café scene where you can enjoy a locally produced coffee and the work of fine local artists on the walls. Collect your trail map from the Lismore Visitor Information Centre and follow the 30 mosaic footpath markers around town to discover some intriguing and quirky facts about Lismore. Lismore City Heritage Walks (2kms, 30 mins) From federation gothic cathedrals to a pub fit for a queen, these self guided walks around the city centre explore Lismore's many interesting historic sites and buildings. Pick up your trail guide from the Lismore Visitor Information Centre or the Richmond River Historical Society's Museum in the old Council Chambers on Molesworth St. Other short walks outside Lismore include Rocky Creek Dam, Rotary Park, Birdwing Butter y Walk, Tucki Tucki Nature Reserve or the 30 Great Walks through the National Parks of the Northern Rivers region. full day tours Take a long, slow country drive through the rolling green hills to explore the treasures of Lismore's hinterland.
